BONNEAU DU MARTRAY
Difficult to add to the vast literature written about the Domaine Bonneau du Martray. Images remain. A tasting at the Metropolitan Club in Washington attended by serious folks and Jean Charles speaking about his vineyards. Talking about a pre-industrial time when a farmer knew each of his cattle by name and could tell with one look if something was needed. He explained that when he went to visit one of his ‘parcels’ (there are fifteen) he could immediately tell if he had to help, help being decidedly organic. There is much interest in examining the life of a wine, the behavior of yeasts for instance, observation, observation, observation. The Corton Charlemagnes are glorious.
